Precious Miracle! By Jannet Hopewell! SPIRITUAL HEALING BOOK
TOPIC: MIRACLES
Precious Miracle is a book that brings the message of hope beyond hope and will inspire any longing soul to believe in miracles also. The way in which she told her story and the unique manner in which she habitually viewed every event as a miracle helps the reader to appreciate the simplicity in the miraculous.
From Jannet’s vantage point in this book, she saw every doctor, surgery, helper, carer and even her children as being heaven sent to help her at a time of pain. She saw their love, compassion, get well cards and even the roses sent to her as miracles.
Her trust in God in un-shifting, sometimes beyond common sense belief common to most of us. She explained how tough it was to wait for God to do what she believed God promised her that she would one day walk again.
From a human to human compassionate point of view It is easy to identify with her in her struggle & sickness, after all there are millions of us going through the same kind of experience right now in one way or another. She suffered from Spondylolishtesis a chronic back illness & endometriosis, an disease of the womb they are called) and certainly not difficult to imagine her level of pain, anguish and discomfort.
I sincerely believe her account of how she was told to; “Get up and walk” and respect her courage in getting up and exercising the faith to act on that command which in her case (Thank God!) yielded great fruit and she walked unaided and was permanently healed.
What a great blessing it is to read the eyewitness accounts of her prayer group friends and family about her past health history and healing. They shed more light that enables the reader to fill in the blanks.
I was saddened by the way she reported that some trusted friends around her and others reacted negatively to her healing and her new post illness lifestyle and attitude of ‘Get Go!’ Perhaps Jannet was naïve in thinking that everyone rejoices at receiving good news. Not everyone celebrate good news in our world today. The world we live in today thrives on continued bad & ugly news and has done so for far too long. Miracles, real miracles (at least as the world sees it) has been few and far between.
What touches the soul most about this testimony is the way she embraced her calling and redefined her life after her healing by plunging her energy, time and effort into spreading the gospel by helping other people, birthing so many initiatives and projects that inspires others. That I believe is the icing on the cake of her true story.
The book can be very touchy, personal and may trouble you in some areas of it especially when she describes her pain, frustration, struggle and some nasty experiences & discrimination whilst still in a wheel chair.
From a secular perspective, I take great courage in seeing a woman rise out of her illness imposed circumstance and breaking out in the end to be in a position to have an awesome impact on others.
From a Christian perspective, I simply rejoice that God is still in the miracle business and I feel re-assured that He is still though I long for a miracle or miracles in many areas of my life, I am encourage by Jannet’s testimony to keep on believing that with God, al things are possible.
On a scale of ten, I award this book 8.5 for its simplicity, clarity and details. As for its ability impact, encourage restoration and birth hope beyond hope, this book gets a ten out of ten from me.
